It’s great to go deeper into the topics and themes of our books, because that’s what we’re passionate about. I could talk about courage for days (like via retreats) or hours (podcasts and webinars or on a walk n’ talk). Here are a few of my favorites and most recent.
Hearts Rise Up – Episode 48 – Courage For The Complexity of Being Human
June 18, 2021 — It was lovely to speak with Carol Chapman on her Hearts Rise Up podcast, which Feedspot named one of the “Top 30 Wisdom Podcasts You Must Follow in 2021.” Carol asks great questions of her guests to explore what it takes to live a heart-centered life.
We talked about how to navigate through the many types of courage with what I call the Courage Quintessentials. I shared a little about my personal challenges in life resulting in 180- to 360- to 540-degree changes, how I found myself living into the ideas I wrote about in The Courage Way book, and how that translates into being a publisher nowadays. Here are the show notes with links to your favorite podcast platforms. Episode 48 – Courage for the Complexity of Being Human.
Thrive This Day – Entrepreneurs In Real Life
May 13, 2021 — Listen in to my conversation with Elizabeth Miner of Thrive This Day and Entrepreneurs IRL (in real life). It’s funny how we gain insights from speaking aloud about our learnings over time. Who knew that choosing to be an entrepreneur is actually an act of self-care? See this page for the show notes and links to all listening options: Episode S2-005 – Shelly Francis: A business based in creative courage.
On having the courage to write and market your books
April 7, 2021 — I had so much fun in conversation with Jasraj Hothi (Jas), founder of INF Club for INFJ and INFP writers and creatives. Jas, who is an INFP, writer, coach, is also a wonderful connector of people. His new book, The Indie Author, will debut in 2021. You can watch our conversation below or listen via podcast. See the podcast episode show notes for links to things we talked about.
Awakin Calls – A Service Space Project
July 25, 2020 — The Courage Way is a conversation with me, Andy Smallman and Aryae Coopersmith discuss “What does living courageously mean for you, and how do you cultivate personal courage?”
View and listen here. Awakin Calls highlight the work and inner journeys of individuals who are transforming our world in large and small ways. The calls are an all-volunteer-run offering of ServiceSpace, a global platform founded on the principle of “Change Yourself. Change the World.” The Awakin context centers on values that trigger inner transformation, and so the conversation ends up being somewhat different from what is found in traditional settings that focus only on the individual’s work in the world. The Awakin call evokes turning point stories and holds space for speakers to open their hearts a bit about the personal inner journey that accompanies the outer head-and-hands work.
